Answer: True. In the 2020 NEC, 210.8(F) was added to require GFCI protection for all outdoor outlets for dwellings supplied by branch circuits rated 150 volts to ground or less and 50 amperes or less. The only exceptions are for lighting outlets that are not in crawl spaces and the circuits for the equipment covered in 210.8(A)(3) Exception 3.
