These very words were uttered by my son as some of his first. Then we found out he was eating ants. Yum!

Like father like son!

Here I am playing with a male Carpenter Ant Alate. I am sure he was happy with me.

If they are not excavating your home they are quite interesting creatures. But they need to play outside and with the neighbors   ;  )

They tend to want to swarm in the spring after the first warm days (May through June normally).

So this is a good time to keep an eye out and you may see where their nest is. If it is close to your home you may want to employ a pest control operator to come and treat.
