What do you see? - Wenatchee and Leavenworth Home Inspection

There are two area in a home that usually do not get much visitation, at least from a human (critters and insects are another story). This is the crawlspace and attic.

When performing home inspections in these areas I will save them for last. Always save the good stuff for last... right!

Here we have a good example why these areas need to be properly evaluated.

Look at this picture and what do you see.

                              Leaning chimney of Pisa

Eileen is a good name for a lady but not for a chimney.

                               Separation of the brick

Upon closer evaluation you can see the bricks are starting to separate which is just not a good sign. (Nice grout work also ; )

I find attics can be a conundrum. I want to traverse them all but many times I cannot due to truss design and the use of blown in insulation.

In these older homes this is usually not the case and I get to go merrily through the attic performing my home inspection. This is usually a good thing as in this case.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
