Staples may be good for paper!

Staples may be good for paper! Wenatchee Home Inspection Services

Staples may be good to use on paper, staples may be good for use on your body post surgery but staples are not allowed for use on composite wood trim and siding.

For the manufacturers of composite siding and trim (that I have looked up) state in their documentation Do Not Use Staples for the installation of their siding and trim materials.

Staples in composite siding and trim

This seems like common sense to me but obviously that may not be true for everyone.

For the unsuspecting homeowner the installation of this material by the contractor is incorrect and will need to be repaired.

Composite materials can perform very well if properly installed. All too often I see poor installation practices that result in these materials prematurely failing.

                         Proper nailing for composite materials

When hiring a contractor you should ask one basic question, will the materials being used be installed in accordance of the manufacturer’s specifications?  The answer better be yes.

“If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.”
